Vidya Niketan came into existence on 13th December 2006 with the aim for comprehensive development of rural children / adolescents, women and marginalized segment of the society. In order to provide free and quality education to rural children, school from class 8 -10 is being run with the support of members of the organization and likeminded people. The school is operational since 2007 and average student strength of the school is 180. Since majority of students are from tribal and SC community, hence no fee is charged from students. Apart from education and livelihood programs, we have been working extensively on health and sanitation issues with the support of Hindustan Copper Ltd. (CSR support). This includes organizing medical camps, eye camp, awareness on TB, HIV/AIDS, adoption of best health practices and construction of individual toilets thereby changing behavioural aspect of villagers.
